The future of emissions standards

The future of emissions standards

Whether you are selling in a highly regulated market or need to offer a fuel optimised solution, the Perkins range will meet your needs in terms of both regional suitability and power. Whatever place you need to sell, wherever your customers are operating and whatever type of off-highway machine - we have a solution and will continue to do so as the global market diversifies with the introduction of new emissions standards.

Emissions standards have been in place in territories like Europe, North American and Japan for many years. With the latest generation of standards being EU Stage IV/U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, which came into force in 2014.

Other major world economies like India, China and Turkey are also on the journey to higher emissions standards, and there are some territories which as yet have no emissions standards.

We develop a deep understanding of customer usage profiles to provide fully integrated solutions that maximise the benefits to the end user.

EU and U.S. emission standards diverge

Over the next 10 years the international market will diverge further. The EU has proposed a new standard called Stage V which is most likely to come into force in 2019 and 2020. The US, however, has not yet released any proposals for any new standards beyond Tier 4 Final.

As new regions introduce new emissions standards, we will work closely with you to offer application support. We’ll provide back up to you and your customers through our global distribution network and continue to deliver the high durability, reliability and dependability that you are seeking through our proven industrial off-highway solutions.
